“So I won’t stop dreaming, but maybe next time I won’t hold on so tightly, and just let it happen naturally. And maybe one day, I’ll find a place where I feel I belong completely, exactly as I am.” ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Please continue making music! I know it is such a disappointment, especially if this all happened mere months ago but it will fade eventually and the music will stay with you.

My first project also just broke up a few weeks ago and though there are some things I’m gonna miss and some misplaced feelings of guilt, as long as the music is with me, I’m never gonna be alone 👽

I'm taking a break right now but I believe the spark will find me again soon! Good luck to you as well. The music never really leaves does it...

Music has probably always been the only constant in my life so you’re right, it never leaves!

I’m sure the spark will be back, but also keep your mind open to the idea of doing it by yourself - other things will come eventually 🖤

That feeling of being so enthusiastic with something you think is wonderful, and wanting to jump in with both feet, only to realize later hardly anyone else felt that same energy is So Mortifying, so thanks for your bravery for sharing this.

Couldn’t leave this comment on your article, but this was so touching and a great way to heal. Don’t beat yourself up, I know how it feels to be in the midst of people you have to ever-compensate for.

It’s okay for some things to fail, I hope you keep doing things you find joy in, whether others want to be a part of it or not. All the best

As someone who tried to start a band and do local shows in NYC I really, really relate.

The coordinating, the group chats, the trying to find an affordable spot to book jam sessions everyone can travel to easily.

It really is a group effort/ makes you feel like you’re building a bond.

Mine fell apart too tho (much quicker than yours) and for a while I was deff bummed out.

Love that you’re being transparent, and taking a break but still finding things to do creatively.

May the good ass music never leave you homie.

Ugh. I feel your grief here. There are these once in a lifetime opportunities, and you really hope people will give themselves over to it. I am always looking for these breaks in the space-time continuum where it feels like everything is right. Sometimes it’s a vision and Communication issue, but other times it’s plain old cowardice. I’m always looking for the signs for my next Band

Love your writing. That wasn't a failure, that sounds like a great band experience that fizzled, like all bands eventually do.

Enjoyed reading this! The closest I've come to playing in a band is being in a pit for musicals, and those are some of the best memories I have. Playing in a band in front of a live audience must be even better.
